General description

Hotel description This comfortable hotel is located in the middle of the Islantilla golf course. The resort is around 1km away. The beach, only separated from the hotel by the quayside is within 800m and restaurants, bars and shopping facilities lie around 1km away. Built in 2001 and renovated in 2003, this beach hotel is surrounded by 10,600 m² of gardens and borders a main road. The complex is spread between 2 buildings over 4 floors with 97 double rooms as well as 95 suites and 12 bungalows. Facilities on offer include a foyer, a 24-hour reception desk, lifts, a café, shops and a hairdresser's salon. Also offered is a bar, a café, an air-conditioned à la carte restaurant with highchairs for infants, a public Internet terminal (for an additional fee) but free cable internet connection in the room, and a conference room. Those arriving by car may take advantage of the car park or garage facilities. Younger guests may let off steam in the playground and participate in the kids' club activities. Laundry and medical services (on request) round off the services on offer Remarks Both the heated pool and whirlpool, will only be open season to consider the hotel, normally not coincide with the summer season. Outdoor pool and Beach Club will be open in summer.

Linda from Stevenage reviewed the Hotel Islantilla Golf Resort "I think as a golf hotel they either need to make arrangements for food to be purchased before playing or to have the food buggy available on the course during playing or they need to stop making guests feel like thieves for taking food from the breakfast buffet before playing. I think the food was pretty poor at the last night dinner and also feel that arrangements should have been made for drinks to be obtained by the staff rather then me having to walk across to the hotel in the middle of my meal to buy a glass of wine because I wanted pink rather than red or white." I don't like to stand in lines and I want more variation with the food. I think this can be a lot better. And also the clubhouse; I think it is strange that the place was open from 11.00 o'clock. Fortunately they were able to allocate us a room each. The food I thought was not to a reasonable standard for a hotel of this calibre. I don't like having to queue for food and the queues were quite lengthy. This I think was due to the poor layout of the service area where you had to wait in the same line for whichever course you wanted. Consequently I seldom had a main course meal. My main objection, however, was with the system of paying for drinks. On several occasions I found I had signed for other people's drinks and when paying cash there was a reluctance to return the change. In the bar I was charged almost 12 euros for 1 glass of wine and 1 beer without being given a bill! I learned as I went along but that should not be the case. Nobody likes being ripped off." Very clean and comfortable with friendly and accommodating staff. I didn't make it out of the resort complex so I don't know how accessible other facilities were but the hotel provided sufficient amenities to accompany the golf facilities, although lunch options could have been better. Perfect location for golf, opposite the club house and next to the practice ground; my room looked over the club house which again was ideal. I found the hotel and room quiet and 'in room' facilities more than adequate. Overall, for the purpose of my stay, I was delighted with the hotel."
